Guitar  -  ukulele  -  bucket drumming

Carl Tosten Guitar Workshop
​June 19th 3pm to about 5pm 
The Bistro at Soap Lake Natural Spa & Resort

Carl Tosten is a singer, songwriter, artist representative & traveling clinician for several major manufacturers. the workshop will be an open format and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions addressing their musical needs. Here is some of what you can expect:
  • Basic fingerpicking and strumming techniques, working with a metronome.
  • Introduction to drop D and Dadgad tunings.
  • Learning simple percussive techniques to accompany playing solo.
  • Using harmonics within a song, plucked and slapped,
  • Simple fingering exercises to gain speed and dexterity.
  • Basic composition and using your voice to find notes,
  • Using multiple capos including partial capos to create various chords in standard tuning​
Registration limited to 60 attendees. (Registration form below.)
A no-host bar will be open.

​Micah and Me Rocks Ukulele Workshop

Learn how to play the ukulele in this high energy class for people ages 10 and up! Micah and Me Rocks provide workshops and dance parties for kids, families and the young-at-heart.

Ukuleles provided for up to 30 people. 
​
​If you do not want to play an ukulele, OR if you are bringing your own ukulele registration is NOT required.

Bucket Drumming Workshop with John Owens

This is a free, all-ages bucket drumming workshop with  renowned percussionist and educator John Owens, Ph.D. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned pro, this is your chance to learn from a master. John’s impressive background ranges from performing with the U.S. Army Band and Disneyland to street drumming in Washington D.C. and touring across Europe. 

Buckets and sticks will be provided for up to 40 people. BE SURE TO BRING A CAMP OR LAWN CHAIR. 
If you do not want to drum, OR if you are bringing your own bucket and sticks registration is NOT required.
